Birthday edit

IMDB states Oct 21/1973, another site says Oct 22/1972 and WIKI says Jan 1/1973, which one is correct? Hotwine8 20:32, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

IMDB and IMDBPro also now report Saffron's Birthday as October 22, 1972.

New photograph edit

That photo doesn't look like her. Does anyone have another picture of her that more accurately shows her? -- Jophus00 (talk) 20:20, 2 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Category edit

I had this comment left on my user talk, and thought here was a more appropriate plaece for the discussion so I'm pasting it below. Paul Largo (talk) 09:55, 2 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi PaulLargo,

I was reviewing Saffron Burrows's biography page, and noticed the Categories link to "Bisexual actors". Because the topic of sexuality is such a minefield, I don't think she should be categorized this way, considering that she has never publicly confirmed this information. Hi PaulLargo,

Thanks for opening this topic up to discussion. To follow up, the Wikipedia guide for Biographies of Living Persons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons) states that "Category tags regarding religious beliefs and sexual orientation should not be used unless two criteria are met: The subject publicly self-identifies with the belief or orientation in question; The subject's beliefs or sexual orientation are relevant to the subject's notable activities or public life, according to reliable published sources."

Since Saffron hasn't publicly confirmed herself to be bisexual, and it doesn't pertain to her professional life, I think this category should be removed. Blharrison (talk) 07:44, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to remove it then, but make a note of your reasons in the edit summary. You might also consider reviewing the LGBT category. Paul Largo (talk) 20:08, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the help and the suggestion. I also think that the LGBT category should be considered in the same way as the Bisexual category. Blharrison (talk) 00:08, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

IMDB link edit

The IMDB link used to reference her date of birth doesn't work. It's either broken or needs a subscription of some kind. Paul Largo (talk) 22:17, 30 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ah, it requires subscription. I think therefore we should mention this in the reference. Paul Largo (talk) 22:18, 30 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Bisexual actor edit

She could not be classified as bisexual because, she's never declared her sexual orientacion. In article is the sentence: "despite her having not apparently categorized herself as either gay, straight or bisexual." - if she does not categorize herself we cannot categorize her as well. Andrew18 @ 10:34, 9 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

We should also remove the LGBT studies template as that also categorises her, and like you say if she doesn't categorise herself as such then neither should we. I'll do it now. Paul Largo (talk) 19:19, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sexuality edit

The Alan Cumming quote needs a citation, especially as Burrows has not specifically stated her sexuality. If you Google his statement you get this article and two other entries. Not sure how encyclopedic these articles are though. Paul Largo (talk) 20:10, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK, the After Ellen site can do. Seems all right to me, though I'm no expert. I tend to stick to tried and trusted news references. Paul Largo (talk) 22:21, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Trotskyist? edit

She is a Trotskyist? I thought she was a social democrat of some sort, at least according to the Frost interview. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.157.213.109 (talk) 19:35, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I haven't found a really solid source but from interview remarks and considering that the french socialist party is only socialist in name but otherwise firmly social democrat reformist (and not that far from US democrats), I guess she's not really much of a socialist. --2A02:8071:B693:BE00:148F:56C9:652E:A301 (talk) 04:04, 2 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Citizenship edit

I added Naturalized citizens of the United States because according to IMDB, Burrows became a U.S. citizen in 2009. I added, you deleted. I would like to know why.--68.199.204.195 (talk) 02:13, 29 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

On August 22, 2011, Burrows confirmed on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson that she has become a US citizen. 85.81.82.15 (talk) 00:41, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wow, I didn't know that. Will restore deleted categories that I was going to question here. Thanks for the info. Quis separabit? 00:45, 23 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Section on Career and Filmography edit

Career section says:

Burrows made her film debut in 1993 with a small role in Jim Sheridan's In the Name of the Father

But that film is not listed in the Filmography — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.233.249.228 (talk) 22:05, 20 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
