Saffo or Saffò?

I came across this article at the beginning of 2013 (when it was still titled "Saffò") and I posted a message at its first editor Marleau's talk page, wondering where the title with an accent on the last letter had come from (Saffò instead of Saffo). No reply has come from Marleau, who is no longer active on Wikipedia, and I wish to state again here that, as far as I know, the term 'Saffò' is not in use in Italian, is not reported in the reliable sources I have been able to consult (The New Grove Dictionary of Opera, for instance), and, above all, does not seem to have been used either in the coeval librettos (cf. [1] and [2]) or in Pacini’s very memories([3]). I think the title should be moved from Saffò to Saffo. --Jeanambr (talk) 23:06, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

I checked Michael Rose's entry in Holden and do not see it there either. With all these sources, I think you're justified in removing the "ò". Viva-Verdi (talk) 23:33, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
