Perhaps someone could write a bit about about Bob Stone's involvement in the research and definition of "sacred steel" music; I know he is the primary researcher and has published a couple of articles about it, and I believe he is also responsible for coming up with the name "sacred steel" for a series of compilation albums.

Just wondering.. guitarist Derek Trucks uses slide guitar to reach the same sound effects. It can sound like a woman singing or crying, or in prayer. Is there room for this, and the harmonics in this article? --leahtwosaints (talk) 04:30, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
No, I don't think that would be appropriate since it's covered in other articles. This article exists to document that a unique form of sacred music grew up within The Black Church and specifically the Word of God Churches as listed by proper name in the article. This Sacred Steel musical movement is not the reason Derek trucks learned to play Steel Guitar nor did he attend any of the involved Churches. However, I can see a time in the future, now that Robert Randolph has crossed over into the world of secular Pop/rock music, where musicians not from this background will be influenced by the style of Sacred Steel and that will be worth documenting. I think a more important task would be getting articles up and running on the founders of Sacred Steel and the 2nd and 3rd generations of performers of the musical tradition. As for harmonics, if you want to discuss or reference one of the members of the movement and how THEY use harmonics, that would be great! Just be sure to cite a reference to back up any claims and rather than re-state the whole Harmonics issue, add a link to the article on the subject. That is a good idea!
