hi Saba Saba Day is located in Tanzania and Saba Saba means seven seven

July 7 (1954) is an important day in the history of Tanzania, which was then still called Tanganyika. On this day, the Tanganyika African National Union (TANU) was founded. TANU played an important role on the way to the independence of Tanganyika in 1961 (mainland Tanzania) and the later federation of Tanganyika and Zanzibar to form the United Republic of Tanzania in 1964. In 1977, TANU and the Afro-Shirazi Party (ASP) of Zanzibar merged to form the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM; Swahili for "Party of the Revolution").

Although there are sources that state that TANU was founded on July 5, 1954, July 7 is generally recognized as the date of TANU's founding and has therefore been celebrated as Sabasaba Day since independence in 1961. It is incorrect that the holiday dates back to the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, as this only took place for the first time in 1963. The name is derived from the date, saba saba (seven seven) stands for the 7th of July. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.220.142.152 (talk) 07:10, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
