Talk:SV Austria Salzburg

Hello, great to read something about Austria Salzburg in the english section. But two points:
First, the violet white fans never supported a club called "Red Bull Salzburg"! Second, Austria Salzburg didn`t want to take over Police Sports Club completly but only the football section. --213.102.121.198 09:33, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Founding Date?

edit

The article contradicts itself. The box says 2006, but the article says 2005. According to 84.172.166.8's edit, "The club was founded in 2005 and not in 2006, that's fact." Nice, but not terribly helpful in resolving the conflict. I think a little more detail is called for. --Chancemichaels 19:02, 4 June 2007 (UTC)ChancemichaelsReply

Now it's fixed. 84.172.190.83 15:07, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, but was the previous poster misinformed, mistaken, or is there some debate? I honestly don't know. --Chancemichaels 16:55, 6 June 2007 (UTC)ChancemichaelsReply
The club was founded in 2005. (Look here: http://zvr.bmi.gv.at/Start that's the Austrian register of associations. Fill out "Vereinsname" with "Sportverein Austria Salzburg" and you can download a pdf with facts about the Club. Look there for "Entstehungsdatum" and you can see "07.10.2005" = 10-07-05) Because they where founded during season 2005/06, they couldn't start playing directly. But the Police Sport Club had a football section at this time in the 4th highest league in Austria and it was quite decidded to close this section after this season. The SV Austria and the football section formed a "Spielgemeinschaft" (As far as I know this concept is unknown in the english spoken world and can't be translated well. A "Spielgemeinschaft" is when two clubs form a united team but the clubs doesn't merge.) The intention of this Spielgemeinschaft was to merge the football section with the SV Austria. But it failured in summer. (and the football section of the Police Sport Club was dissolved...) So the SV Austria started in the bottom division with an 100% own team in 2006.

I think the misinformation was because not every body knows about the time with the Police Sport Club. 84.172.147.146 22:26, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
