Removal of ET RSS edit

Should there be any mention that this flight was the first to have the ET RSS disabled?

The ET ICD states: "In phase 1 (STS-79) the ET RSS will be deactivated by removing the Confined Detonating Fuse (CDF) assembly." Cjosefy 19:33, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Swapping of units in description of ETTF edit

http://history.nasa.gov/SP-4225/sts79/sts-79.htm may state (in fact, does state) that the ETTF runs to 871°F or 1600°C; this is a bit off, as 871°F is equal to 466°C, while 1600°C translates to 2921°F. However, since 871°C is equal, to within a sensible number of significant figures, to 1600°F, I think it's reasonable to assume that someone at NASA goofed and got the units backwards. Accordingly, I've swapped 'em. McNutcase 17:29, 18 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orbital inclination edit

Which is correct? The one bellow the Missions Parameters title or the one in the InfoBox? Tom Paine 15:54, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Vernier Jet Test edit

Can anyone confirm that the vernier jet maneuver tested near the end of STS-79 was used on STS-82? The NASA Mission Archive for STS-82 makes mention of a jet maneuver used in the manner described in this article, but the Archive does not state that it was the same maneuver used on STS-79. The Mission Archive for STS-82 is available here. Thanks! Darmokandjalad (talk) 19:30, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
