Notability edit

is this page really necessary?

You should be ashamed of yourselves, using profanity on the internet... who would have thought of that. You are all babies.I Am a grandmother who would like to show her grandson the good of the internet. If I find who wrote this, you will get a good takling to mister!

--Whoever wrote that comment--

Yes, People curse on the internet, it happens a lot. Your grandson will have to learn that people use profanity A LOT. For fun, out of anger, out of many things. You don't have to, however, look up 'stfu' on the 'net. This page is necessary because if your 'grandson' comes across the saying anywhere and he doesn't understand it, he can look it up and come across something that will help him without brutally offending him, (looking up stfu on google comes across various images and such and such).

Thanks,

-Kywyn.

We definately need the page Maam(whomever you are). I didn't make, write or create the page and I'm not a 'mister' and I'm pretty sure I'd not like a 'takling to' but you are free to stop by and "hand" out a firm spanking. Lady 3Jane 02:46, 26 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
I highly doubt that this person is a grandmother because the IP is that of a school. Though it is possible that this person is telling the truth, like I said, I highly doubt it. And to Lady 3Jane, the first line was written by a different person.
While I agree with you suspicion (most notably because of the stereotypical tone "She" takes), we need to assume good intentions :/ 24.205.34.217 21:58, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Uhh... a good takling? Violent grandma...

What the fuck? People fucking swear on the fucking internet? Smells like fucking bullshit, quit spreading these fucking lies you fucking motherfucker. Strider01 18:07, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

LOL idiots. Whoever wrote that was obviously joking. Dur! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.163.0.41 (talk) 14:30, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

removed sentence edit

I removed "STFU" may also stand for "Stand Together For Unity" or any other phrase that properly fits the acronym. That's pretty much the definition of acronym/initialism, and doesn't add anything to this article. FreplySpang (talk) 14:55, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Haha thats kinda funny....

Stanford University? edit

I heard people use Stfu for STanFord University. Maybe the article needs an extension?

Maybe you need to stfu

Maybe you should get an IP ban 24.205.34.217 22:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The article needs to be tagged as such. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JasonHockeyGuy (talkcontribs) 07:08, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I suggest this should be reduced to a redirect to the farmers' organisation. PatGallacher (talk) 23:54, 14 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Legitmate alternative meanings edit

  • short-term 5-fluorouracil (very rare)
  • Short term follow-up (common in a clinical research setting, but rarely abbreviated in my experience)
