SEPTA Main Line → Glenside Combined – Very little existing literature appears to refer to this as "the SEPTA Main Line." This name is inherently confusable with the Philadelphia Main Line, which is often what one is referring to when they mention "the main line," even in rail enthusiast circles (in fact, perhaps especially so, considering this term originates from the Pennsy Main Line). The use of this term for the article seems to stem from a single FRA document about PTC, which is not enough, in my eyes, to fulfill WP:COMMONNAME and rest the crux of the article title on. A simple Google search for "SEPTA Main Line" returns results primarily for the Paoli/Thorndale Line, which again is named as such due to the Pennsy Main Line.
As such, I propose to rename this to the name used by the timetable, the Glenside Combined, as this seems to be what the article would actually like to be referring to. Along with this, a restructure of the article itself as well as an evaluation of the pages that link here are likely to be in order, both of which are tasks I am willing to uptake. - Oppose per Mack. This is an article about the physical line, not the title on a passenger service timetable. Full disclaimer, I'm the one who split this article from the Airport Line (SEPTA) article as part of the changes created by SPETA dropping the old R route numbers; before that this was a redirect as the trunk was powered with the Airport Line as route R1. The title was chose because it was the original redirect. While Main Line (SEPTA) might be an okay tile, the current one does have WP:NATDIS advantages. Regardless of that, this is an article about the physical line, not the service. Also note that the full length of the line goes to Landsdale, not Glenside, it's just that the Glenside–Landsdale portion only carries trains from Doylestown ever since the service to Allentown and Bethlehem were discontinued. oknazevad (talk) 00:28, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
