SIMEC Atlantis Energy

edit

Hey Tom,

I noticed that you have made recent edits to the Atlantis Resource Wikipedia page, and wondered if you could help me with something. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantis_Resources

The company has recently changed its name and logo to "SIMEC Atlantis Energy" https://www.scotsman.com/business/atlantis-energy-hails-breakthrough-year-despite-widening-losses-1-4955961

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:SIMEC_Atlantis_symbol.jpg - Also this is now the new logo with the new name, I am unsure if you are able to change this too. But this is the new logo that they now use with the new name "SIMEC Atlantis Energy" title.

I see that the body of the article on the wiki page refers to this new name but not the article title or logo.

Let me know if there are any issues.

Thanks, Molly — Preceding unsigned comment added by MollyStewart02 (talkcontribs) 15:18, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

@MollyStewart02: I updated the logo per your link & moved the page to the new company name per their website. Please make whatever other changes are needed to the remainder of the article.   ~ Tom.Reding (talkdgaf)  15:41, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Repeatedly removing United Kingdom

edit

Angryskies has repeatedly removed the country name United Kingdom from this article. The last edit summary was: Try adding "United Kingdom" to the Rockstar North article and see what happens. For the record, I don't have any interest about about the Rockstar North article and therefore I don't have any intention to edit it. What may or may not happen when editing another article is not a valid argument. The general principle and a long standing consensus is that we should include the name of the sovereign state, even if it consist of separate countries. E.g. in the case of Ukrainian article, the location "Soviet Union" is added to the articles if something happened before 1991, notwithstanding the fact that Ukraine ia an independent country now. So please cite the policy that this general principle is not valid for the articles about companies based in Scotland. By the way, going through the talk page archive of the Rockstar North article, it seems that notwithstanding the number of editors who want to remove the name United Kingdom, the established consensus supports the the general principle. Please can you update the logo - correct logo is available here: https://saerenewables.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Original-SAE-Logo-.png

You can see the logo correctly displayed on London stock exchange page here: https://www.londonstockexchange.com/stock/SAE/simec-atlantis-energy-limited/company-page Saestaff (talk) 08:46, 2 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I have updated this on the basis the logo consists of only simple geometric shapes and text, and therefore can be considered public domain --Drnoble (talk) 19:23, 2 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Propose renaming page

edit

Since the company are trading as just SAE, this page should probably be renamed to some variant of SAE. As there are many other pages related to these 3 letters, it could either be "SAE Renewables" (as used on their website), or "SAE (Renewable Energy company)", or something similar. @Saestaff: do you have any comments? Drnoble (talk) 09:57, 21 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please chnage to SAE Renewables as you have said as per the website https://saerenewables.com/ Alexf565 (talk) 12:27, 27 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Have now renamed page, will try and update pages so they directly link, although a redirect from the old name is in place. Drnoble (talk) 16:29, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
