Island or peninsula

- Södertörn is however not any natural island as it is not separated by nature from (the rest of) the Swedish mainland.
- Södertälje Canal and Hammarby Canal are no natural waters as they are man-made waterways built on natural landmass. The correct definition of Södertörn, at least according to UN, should be peninsula or artificial island rather than island.
- The southern Stockholm centre district of Södermalm is no island as well, as it is separated from Södertörn by the man-made Hammarby Canal. If considering Hammarby Canal as a landmass, Södermalm is part of the Södertörn peninsula, and perhaps Gamla stan too, as Slussen is a man-made sealock/waterway. 212.100.101.104 (talk) 22:12, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
