POV
editIt is pov to call someone the most succesful based only on victories. Lapinmies 21:23, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. I made a similar edit to Tommi Mäkinen. Prolog 13:49, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Now he is the most successful both in victories and championships. Eh eh. Hektor 22:07, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- And now five times champion. Eh eh eh. Hektor (talk) 10:27, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
- Make that six (sorry, couldn't resist).--Paracel63 (talk) 00:11, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm what about seven ? 193.49.124.107 (talk) 09:59, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- Eight. Eh eh eh eh. Hektor (talk) 21:25, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
- No, nine! --Insert coins (talk) 18:08, 7 October 2012 (UTC)

active diffs
editPerhaps the reference to active diffs should be eliminated, seeing as in 2006 the top cars no longer have them but Loeb still drives the same? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cosmicpanda (talk • contribs).
Needs to be expanded
editWhy is there nothing about his broken arm? this page has been updated daily and this was missed? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.109.24.165 (talk • contribs).
- It hasn't been missed as it is mentioned in the lead. It's just the 2006 section that needs an update. Prolog 17:25, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- I was about to add an info box, as per the project to-do list, but I'm having no luck finding detailed figures for his total number of stage wins and the number of WRC events that he has entered. Adrian M. H. 19:21, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- Did you notice the external links section on Wikipedia:WikiProject World Rally? Loeb's profile on Rally Paradise seems to have been recently updated; 81 events and 344 stage wins. Prolog 19:29, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- Additional note: Rally-Live.com seems to list 85 WRC events, but I believe they have mistakenly included the four rallies Loeb missed this season. Prolog 19:36, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, Prolog - I hadn't seen that link. I'll double check the rally starts before deciding on a figure. Adrian M. H. 16:44, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Intro needs cleanup.
editUnless there are objections I'm planning on cleaning up the intro a bit, including removing the stuff about McRae. I don't see why Colin McRae's one-race comeback should be mentioned in the introductory section about Sebastien Loeb. ColinClark 02:53, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- Be bold and see WP:LEAD if you need tips. Indeed, the part about McRae seems pretty off-topic. Prolog 09:40, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Can I suggest removing the mention of Loeb holding the record for most consecutive championships in motorsport? John Force has won 10 consecutive NHRA Funny Car titles from 1993-2002, and since the tag isn't specific, I suppose Loeb does not actually hold that record. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SVTsnake (talk • contribs) 00:33, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
- I removed the claim as the Reuters ref did not even support it. Prolog (talk) 17:58, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
Documenting transient events
editI have commented out the following statement: "With his new car, he dominates the initial race, Monte Carlo Rally." It is not appropriate encyclopædic content to describe such a transient current event that can change in a moment. If Loeb wins, it can be documented accordingly, though I would hope that it will be phrased somewhat better than the above extract. Adrian M. H. 20:21, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
GER vs DEU
editJust a comment, in the winning table per season. For all years prior to 2010 the rallye in Germany was referenced GER, whereas for 2010 it is referenced DEU. Is there any official way to put it? It seems that GER is used in other pages too. 213.155.255.168 (talk) 07:21, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- Fixed. While DEU is the correct ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 country code for Germany, GER indeed seems to be the standard in F1 and WRC articles. Prolog (talk) 16:46, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
Loeb always late
editThe article about Loeb's early years says le jeune Loeb a une fâcheuse habitude, dont il ne s'est jamais départi: celle de ne jamais être à l'heure ("young Loeb had a nasty habit which he never lost: never to be on time"). I wonder if that relates more to his private life or to his career as a driver. As a driver, he tended to be earlier than his rivals, most of the time. As for his private life, who knows and cares if he is always late? --Edelseider (talk) 07:44, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
Math teacher
editThe article about his mother's death (reference 1) contains interesting details: she was a maths teacher at a local school for 40 years [that surely had an incidence about his childhood and the way he was raised], and she never agreed with her son's professional choice, which she found too dangerous. Once Loeb has retired for good and the article is rewritten in a more retrospective way, that should be added, I think. --Edelseider (talk) 07:04, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
