S&P 500 during the COVID-19 (coronavirus)

Who wants to write about recent changes in S&P 500 index following the spread of Coronavirus? HappyHippo1990 (talk) 08:32, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

S&P 500 is not the best representation of the overall US stock market

It only represents 500 of the largest companies by market capitalization. Other indices like the Wilshire 5000 or Russell 3000 are more inclusive.[1]

In this line "and many consider it to be one of the best representations of the U.S. stock market", I recommend replacing "best representations" with "most popular representations".

"Index" in article name

This article (S&P 500 Index) has "index" in article name, but not in the opening sentence. Meanwhile, S&P 100 has no "index" in article name, but has it in the opening sentence.

I can't speak about which is better, but I think it should be consistent. --fireattack (talk) 00:13, 2 April 2020 (UTC)

This article should be moved back to S&P 500, consistent with nearly all the other similar articles that do not have "Index". It was moved to this title without discussion. UnitedStatesian (talk) 20:41, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
