The names of Veps persons in this article are spelled in the official Veps orthrography, thus, Rjurik, Pjotr, Fjokla. Please do not change these spellings.Apanuggpak (talk) 11:50, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Šoutar'v? In Veps language, the village's name is Šoutjärv. Pronunciation of Šoutjärv' (Šout + järv' (read yarv) 'lake') is similar to Shautyarv. Apostrophe marks softness of preceding consonant.--Ed1974LT (talk) 15:46, 3 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
