date of her execution

edit

The exact date of her execution is Jan. 12 as published in the "Double Indemnity" Murder, Ruth Snyder, Judd Gray, and New York's Crime of the Century book, 2006.

Can anyone tell me the exact date of her execution? One source says Jan. 12, another says Jan. 22. -- 198.164.135.143 16:48, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)

This article contains 1001 loaded statements and NEEDS to be revised!

I don't know what a "weighted sash" is, but I know what a sash weight is. The original edit that included this term was quite a mess. Is it possible that this is what the editor meant? Steven J. Anderson 03:38, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

So what about the photo?

edit

Given the iconic and famous nature of the photograph and the fact it is a primary element of this story, its absence renders the article incomplete. Surely someone could at least include a link to another website with said photograph. Wikipedia's Fair Use image rules would also allow this photo to be used here, even if it still resides in copyright. 68.146.25.241 (talk) 17:29, 13 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

why is there a link to a picture of her in the external links? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.162.156.129 (talk) 09:11, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Early life?

edit

This article begins when its subject is 30 years old, two years before her death. There is nothing in the text about her childhood and upbringing, except that the name of her mother is mentioned—after her death. Even the circumstances of her marriage (which led to the crime for which she is known) are omitted. Surely, such a notorious person had a lot of articles written about her life, and at least a few were factual. --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 20:10, 14 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Link [8] goes to a page on the website for the Smithsonian Institution, but it doesn't have anything on it (the service shut down in 2016 due to outdated webdesign, apparently). I found another link to the camera mentioned in the Smithsonian Collection, but I'm not sure how to add it in, and I'm also not entirely sure if it is what is wanted for that source. I've got the link here: https://americanhistory.si.edu/collections/search/object/nmah_834989

I hope someone else will know what to do with it better than I do. I wish I could change it myself but I've got work to return to. Coordinated Lobsters (talk) 19:21, 27 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

The noted Broadway columnist Damon Runyon supposedly referred to this crime as "The Dum Dum Murder" , "because it was so dumb". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.23.5.11 (talk) 12:36, 16 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
