Talk:Russian hussars

Why is "Hussars" capitalized in the title of this article? edit

Shouldn't this article be moved to Russian hussars? It's not, as I understand, a proper noun, as if it were the name of a single distinct military unit, but instead it covers any hussars of Russia. If there's no comments to explain otherwise, I'll start a formal move/rename of this article. --A D Monroe III(talk) 23:12, 8 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Lower case for "hussars" is gramatically correct in this context. It would be upper case if the article dealt with (say) the "Grodno Hussars". Buistr (talk) 23:05, 10 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
After a week with no objections and support stated by Buistr, I have moved the page. I'll pursue any clean-up needed. Issue resolved -- thank you. --A D Monroe III(talk) 16:42, 15 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

The articles Russian hussars and Hussar regiment are clearly WP:OVERLAPping and they are about essentially the same. These articles should be made into one. Cukrakalnis (talk) 21:16, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
