There is a book of Sir Eric Ashby, who was sent by Australian government to their legation at Moscow and was there for one year since 1944 (probably a little bit more but not later than July 1946 - the date is printed in the book. There's some new information in it as well as number of controversies about dates of foundation some of regional (later Soviet Republics) academies (some of them mentioned as filials, some as independent ones). The book's name is "Scientist in Russia" (Polskivinnik (talk) 17:38, 4 July 2011 (UTC))Reply

Updates Needed edit

There are portions of the article that are obsolete. They refer to actions in 2013 as "will be" when I suspect that these actions should be either present perfect (has been) or past (was). I am not an expert on the subject. Someone should update this article with the relevant information.190.234.105.138 (talk) 20:57, 3 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

The Stalin years edit

As is, the section on the Stalin years seems to be disproportionally long, although, no doubts, it contains valuable information. Wouldn’t it be better to move this section to Ideological repression in the Soviet Union#Ideological repression in science — and to give just a link here? --Mikisavex (talk) 03:37, 14 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

In the meantime there appeared no objections and no alternative suggestions, so the section is moved to another article as proposed above (nothing has been deleted). --Mikisavex (talk) 05:38, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

RAS is not an associate member of IISNC edit

According to its website, UNESCO's International Institute for the Study of Nomadic Civilizations (IISNC) lists "previous or current" associate members. Two of those listed are RAS research institutes: Institute of Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan Studies, Siberian Branch and Institute of Oriental Studies. The article's claim that the RAS is a member of IISNC appears to be mistaken. HouseOfChange (talk) 03:10, 10 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
