Famly background/wealth, money-losing papers, rumors of tax shelters
editThis article could use some fleshing out. For one thing, it mentions little or nothing of Smith's background (his family's wealth largely being the grease that got him started in the paper business.) Likewise, if Smith is "notable" as a publisher, the actual success of his enterprises should be noted. For one thing, the New York Press was a consistent money-loser for years, and it was rumored for years to have been a tax shelter while under Smith's ownership. Finally, more on "MUGGER" and his politics could be added- based on his column, Smith's politics are a bit more idiosyncratic than simple "conservative Republicanism". I'll be doing my own research, but if other people already have it doen, hopefully they can add to the piece...? ChrisStansfield 05:13, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
- On reason.tv he said he wasn't a Republican. He is clearly a right-wing conservative though. He is clearly notable as a publisher of alternative newspapers, some of the papers themselves are notable aren't they? Well this is the guy that started them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.128.204.207 (talk) 14:25, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

editIsn't Splice Today a site specialized in "animals writings"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.91.51.235 (talk) 15:30, 17 October 2019 (UTC)
