Tony Taulbut's dinosaur egg edit

following up on discussions with @Braches: on Talk:Whonnock, material concerning Ruskin I will post here; I went to the Mission Community Museum and Archives to see what they might have on Ruskin; in their street-names directory, re Taulbut Street in Mission, I found this and must wonder where that gravel pit was. Could have to do with excavations for Ruskin Dam, I guess but wondering where else in "Maple Ridge Ruskin" might be a candidate; can't think of anywhere in Upper Ruskin (up 280th/284th).Skookum1 (talk) 12:01, 10 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

pic of Stave Falls Branch loco edit

I'd thought it was an electric railway; maybe that's after the Stave plant opened...not sure where this is, exactly, will look close later, just found it and saved the link....there was a crushed loco up in the bush on the way to the first cove on the east side of Hayward Lake from the dam; kinda large but maybe only a steam donkey but those domes here look familiar; Phil Northrop might know what that one was.[1] "Glimpses of the Past" page.Skookum1 (talk) 05:56, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

re old fishing lodge by the townsite edit

Braches, I'm wondering if you might know the name of it, or its ownership.....Phil Northrop would, and it may be in Charlie Miller's book; it was a business and had ads in city papers; I don't know if it was in any city directories, I haven't browsed those yet to see for it and other businesses like the Ruskin Drive-In Theatre (later in its final years the Fort Ruskin Drive-In Theatre); another part of Ruskin that is part of Mission.Skookum1 (talk) 11:01, 29 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Japanese logging shows edit

re the bit about Japanese farms and the agricultural productivity of the area, the same applies to Japanese logging shows; I think there's something about tthat in Schroeder's book, including names of companies and individuals.Skookum1 (talk) 11:02, 29 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
