Election controversies

"He has been active in contested elections especially the current one in Florida."

This seems to have been added in January 2007 - to which contested Florida election is this referring? Hutchie6 (talk) 12:10, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

If memory serves, there was a close election with some irregularities where a recount was requested but not performed before the start of the 110th congress, so the apparent winner was sworn in. Holt brought the issue to the floor immediately after the congress started. No clue if anything came of it, but I doubt it. Hazydan (talk) 20:09, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

The election referenced is Florida's 13th congressional district race in 2006 between Christine Jennings and Vern Buchanan. The lead section says "He is currently the only Quaker in Congress". In whar sense is he a Quaker? No further mention in the article". Did his membership pre-date his job at Swarthmore? Vernon White ^{. . . Talk} 15:54, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

I oppose. There are two Rush Holts - the congressman and his dad, who was a U.S. Senator and just as notable as the son. The page was a disambiguation, and I restored it in that state after finding it nominated for wp:g6 -- Y not? 11:19, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
