This site needs to be updated given the US re-entry into Climate Change (Paris Climate 2015 with UN Sustainable Development Goals) as Executive Order of US President Joseph Biden in 2021, and in New York (e.g., rural upstate) the clean energy, bonding and grid developments under the Gov. Re Soviet electrification programs

As per the first message, the Soviet electrification of rural areas (especially the Republics like Kazakhstan and Uzhbekistan) is an important feature of these national initiatives - the article makes no mention of the USSR history re, so I'm going to make a section in my sandbox to start a few bits with. Very much needed section. See 'Lenin's slogan "Communism is Soviet power plus the electrification of the whole country." ' (p.3) The whole book actually is about Soviet Rural electrification) The translation strikes me as odd, or just difficult. I don't have the original Russian in front of me, but I'll say "Communism is power to the Councils (Soviets), plus ..." Smallbones_(smalltalk) 15:23, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

India Section

The whole section reads like an opinion piece, and no references are citied save for the figure of 400 million (which again is misleading, the IEA report states: 'access to the energy needed for lighting, mechanical power, transport and telecommunications.')

'The problem'; 'Many people' 'very high tariffs are unaffordable, resisted by all but the wealthiest users.'; 'The result'; 'is preferable'; 'there is doubt'... are not very objective phrases. Tomtriglone (talk) 07:28, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Environmental Costs of Extended Electrification

Electrifying the entire world is not accomplished without both measured and unmeasured ecological costs. Could a discussion section on this facet of electrification be developed? There are both personal use and use for small businesses. MaynardClark (talk) 19:12, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
