Rumex obtusifolius edit

I have put in numerous "citation needed" tags into the "Medicinal uses of the herb" (formally "Herbal use") section of the article on "Rumex obtusifolius". A lot of sweeping statements have been made without any references to medical research, alternative medicine or writings on folk medicine.QuestingVole 21:39, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

"detoxing effect on the liver and it cleanses the skin" edit

I added "according to folk remedies" because most Rumex species contain oxalic acid, [1], [2] and [3]. Though I cannot find a study which specifically states Rumex obtusifolius contains Oxalic acid, so I won't remove it all together. --Mark PEA 10:31, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nettles edit

Wikipedia is contradicting itself when it says that dock leafs are an effective cure for Nettle Stings but says the opposite in the article on the Stinging nettle. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.19.88.202 (talk) 15:35, 28 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • It doesn't exactly say that. It has a long list of assorted folk remedies and says that many of them are ineffective. To me many =/= all and dock are one of the ones that do work.MidlandLinda (talk) 20:01, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
