Doctor Who Fans

This one feels that it should be noted that the show's creators and animators were fans of the British show Doctor Who. This is apparent through the character Tommy Pickles and his constant use of a toy screwdriver, as well as the appearance of Daleks in at least one episode. It was admitted by the shows creators at one point that they were fans, however I have yet to find a link that verifies this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.10.190.206 (talk) 20:42, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Location verification

The article states that Rugrats takes place in California. However in the first Rugrats film when Stu realizes the children are all missing, he shouts something about driving on I95 or something to the degree of "I'm searching for the children" and "I95". I don't remember quite what, but I95 is referenced. I95 is on the east coast of the USA (the main east coast highway). Should this be mentioned somewhere? I will try and verify it. --216.165.32.6 (talk) 09:46, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Update, it was I99 which is still in Pennsylvania and not California and here is proof http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qx441XVFej4&t=7m10s --216.165.32.6 (talk) 09:56, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

When am i gonna edit the "Airing history" section on Rugrats?

If you free the Rugrats page, i won't write some airing mistakes on the airing history. I won't put up PBS Kids, PBS Kids Sprout, Disney Channel, Toon Disney, SOAPnet, NBC and ABC. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.66.49.141 (talk) 16:16, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

Edit request on 22 December 2011

Please add Denis M. Hannigan as Composer because he wrote the music on the first 120 episodes. His name is at the beginning of each episode with Mark Mothersbaugh after "Music by". Also, the music cue sheets are filed with ASCAP showing what Denis M. Hannigan wrote on Rugrats. Thank you. Denis M. Hannigan

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Do you have web doccuments? Books? URLS? Please provide something like this so I can verify this. Puffin Let's talk! 23:06, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

Under the "Popularity, appeal, and controversy" section, it's listed that the Pickles grandparents were highlighted by the Anti-Defamation League for being potentially antisemetic portrayals. The nomenclature is wrong, it's actually Tommy Pickles' maternal grandparents, the Kropotkins, who were the subjects of this, not his paternal grandparents, who I'm unsure were even actually Jewish. See also: Judaism in Rugrats, the information is correctly relayed there. MindedDionysus (talk) 08:49, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Edit request on 28 January 2012

Rugrats was first aired in 1991, not 1995. 75.66.211.133 (talk) 06:39, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Not done Which is clearly stated in the second sentence, 'The series premiered on August 11, 1991, and aired its last episode on August 1, 2004.' If you are focusing on the fourth sentence, that is merely additional information for context. Dru of Id (talk) 07:43, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

The True story behind Rugrats

I've seen this all over the internet, but I don't know if it's true or not, (I think it's not true) but I think it's worth being mentioned somewhere..... it's an interesting story whether it's true or not... here's a little article on the topic. --SGP (talk) 22:25, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

that is not true. That is a dark theory and I would not want this in the article — Preceding unsigned comment added by LittleMAHER1 (talkcontribs) 16:36, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

DVD releases

The list is missing at least one DVD release: Rugrats Save The Day. 86.185.137.150 (talk) 15:07, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

2015

Is it true there are new episodes/film in 2015 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.101.38.140 (talk) 09:54, June 1, 2014 (UTC)

There doesn't appear to be significant media reports about new Rugrats content appearing in 2015. Previous attempts to submit this information to Wikipedia were reverted because the user(s) didn't have adequate sources. Assume it's a hoax until reliable sources report otherwise. Characters section needs revision

In the last paragraph of the Characters section Tommy is referred to as Stewie. The author might have gotten confused and been thinking of a character from Family Guy. 96.57.233.226 (talk) 14:57, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

For the Record

I’ve been through discussions about Double Dare and Bug Juice and how to handle the new series, so I want to set some reasonable ground rules: Having any less than the group we left off with means it’s a reboot getting a separate article. We get the entire gang back, it’s a continuation/revival and gets listed with the previous episodes--I'm Part-Spider (Would you like to know more?) 00:32, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

Given how long it's been since the original, a separate article would be totally justified. As it's been like with Double Dare and Bug Juice and like it was stated in one of edit summaries here, this is being treated as a new series as nowhere is it saying Rugrats has been renewed. Amaury (talk | contribs) 13:53, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
Please stop using "how long it's been since the original" because that doesn't matter. It was 18 years between MST3K seasons 10 and 11, with two completely different onscreen main casts, and the only people treating 11 and 12 as a new series is Netflix by calling it "The Return". Everyone else considers it a continuation--I'm Part-Spider (Would you like to know more?) 21:15, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
It's as relevant as anything else. What doesn't matter is what fans think. We do should what makes the most sense. Amaury (talk | contribs) 22:05, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
Yet you haven’t actually explained how “how long it’s been since the original” is a qualifier, especially based on the mixed bag of previous examples—I'm Part-Spider (Would you like to know more?) 00:45, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Right back at you, if you want to play that game. You're against splitting this and Double Dare, but were somehow okay with Bug Juice with no real explanation as to why for all three of these. Amaury (talk | contribs) 00:56, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Wow could you be any more deliberately obtuse? Your attitude is unacceptable--I'm Part-Spider (Would you like to know more?) 15:05, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
I can see Bug Juice getting a new article as it is somewhat a new show with an expanded title with the series. If Rugrats goes way Bob the Builder did in 2015 then I can justify it getting a new article. If it's something similar to Bob from 1999-2008 then I would not consider doing a new article. Not going to get into the 2010-2012 of bob as that one is debatable as well. As for Double Dare it's mainly the same show like Figure it out and other revamped games shows. Most Game Shows that are in the same area or a new version don't usually get a new artile. Will have to see what happens once Rugrats starts up. Perry Buzzboy (talk) 16:19, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Depends what sources say – if this gets widely reported as "Rugrats, season 10", then it needs to stay here (with the revival handled like a new "season" of the show). If it mostly reported as being a "spinoff" or a "total new revival series", then a new article is justified. --IJBall (contribstalk) 15:13, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
(edit conflict) 14 years since the original series ended, two spinoffs All Grown Up! and Rugrats Pre-School Daze and potentially different cast and crew than any of them. Most of the current article other than the characters will be irrelevant to the new series. Geraldo Perez (talk) 15:29, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
Rosanne was a revival, but was considered to be season 10 after many years being off the air. I do have a feeling mot of the cast will return, except the actor for Grandpa Lou. Casting should be released in the next few months.Perry Buzzboy (talk) 18:18, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
You forgot Jack Riley (Stu) is also dead. All other casting questions due to death (Ron Glass as Randy Carmichael, Debbie Reynolds as Lulu Pickles) hinge on how revivaly this is. --I'm Part-Spider (Would you like to know more?) 21:15, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

I think it best to wait a while untill we see what happens if it starts to see if it’s a carry on (for example Kimi is it) than count it as season 10 but if it seams like the beginning the maybe call it rugrats (2020) for what I herd it a revival Fanoflionking 10:23, 18 July 2018 (UTC)

Production company section on the infobox

Should Wang Film Productions and Anivision be kept there? Template:Infobox television itself says "sub-contractors hired to perform production work, e.g. animation houses, special effects studios, post-production facilities etc. should not be included here, as this may create confusion about the nation(s) of origin." - Waylif22 (talk) 02:55, 9 August 2019 (UTC)

Split

I think it's better off splitting the revival into it's own article Rugrats (2021 TV series) kpgamingz (rant me) 17:30, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

I think we should wait and see how exactly this new series will play out. Does it have a restarted production number?--GalaxyFighter55 (talk) 04:08, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
We'll have to wait and see in the next few months. kpgamingz (rant me) 13:43, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
Support split Given that the 2021 tenth season is a reboot and a continuation like the Animaniacs revival, I do support a page split. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 15:51, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
Support Split cause Animaniacs 2020 article was on Wiki months before the 1st trailer showed up. Also it seems more like a reboot then a revival (3D animation, Use of modern tech, lacking of characters from the oringal show like Dil and Kimi, etc). — Preceding unsigned comment added by LittleMAHER1 (talkcontribs) 16:38, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
Support split Just like with Teen Titans, Powerpuff girls, and Animaniacs.--Fruitloop11 (talk) 19:07, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

I went ahead and made a split. It seems that it needs it — Preceding unsigned comment added by LittleMAHER1 (talkcontribs) 20:24, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
