Maybe you'd prefer to say that only Schoenberg, Webern and Berg are the members of that school? That's up to you to decide for yourself, I guess. But Schoenberg was vitally concerned with matters of musical performance, in addition to those of composition (the Verein fuer Musikalische Privatauffuehrungen was a strong manifestation of this). Kolisch studied composition with Schoenberg for years even though, after a while, Kolisch had made up his mind not to be a composer, but rather to be a performing musician with a specific consciousness of the issues involved in composition. So on both sides of the relationship, there wasn't the kind of dichotomy between those areas of concern as one might suppose; they overlapped and informed one another.
