Fair use rationale for Image:The Royal Westminster Regiment.gif edit

Image:The Royal Westminster Regiment.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

First militia unit?? edit

Re this:

which was formed on November 21, 1863 and was the first militia unit raised in British Columbia, predating Canada as a natio

That may be what the regimental history says, but there were teh Victoria Voltigeurs in the Colony of Vancouver Island and the Victoria Rifles; the former composed of French-Canadians and Metis, drssed habitant-style, the latter also known as the African Rifle Corps. I suppose on the mainland, i.e. in the Colony of British Columbia, the New Westminster Rifles were the first; but not in BC as a whole.Skookum1 (talk) 14:31, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Since Vancouver Island was not part of BC at the time I believe the statement is correct and is correctly sourced, although perhaps this could be explained in the text. - Ahunt (talk) 17:24, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Regimental March edit

According to The Regiments and Corps of the Canadian Army (Vol. I of the Canadian Army List), the march of the regiment is "Warickshire Lads." When and by what authority did it change to "The Maple Leaf Forever"?Ab.chaplin (talk) 10:54, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
