Citing historical writer Philip MacDougall

In April 2020 material in this article citing a book by Phil MacDougall was removed on the basis that he is a ' spammy author '.
Over the years MacDougall has written a large number of books on historical subjects that appear to have been properly researched, and many of which are still in print, see: books on Amazon by Philip MacDougall. He also contributes and updates articles in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, a role normally reserved for established academics and historians, as an example see: his article on James Wyatt.
His published work would therefore appear to meet the criteria set out in Wikipedia: Reliable sources, and I have therefore reinstated the material that cites MacDougall's books.

Removed again. Phillip has used this platform to mass-promote himself (he was doing this under an account which got blocked for this precise reason so he resorted to using IPs which I believe got blocked too). I never like to remove sources without a very good reason however in this case as I said he uses this platform for promotional-gain. That being said If you're not able to find books or sources similiar to the one I've removed then I'd be happy to reinstate this as his name would only be mentioned once in any article (ie here), Thanks, –Davey2010^Talk 12:14, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
