Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages)

edit

This disambig page needs to follow the manual of style. The purpose of disambiguation pages is to disambiguate between Wikipedia articles, not to list every single thing that exists in the world which relates to the title of the disambiguation page.

External links are a particularly bad idea, as disambiguation pages are not meant as a list of web pages which exist outside of Wikipedia. Google searches are the way for people to find those.

Redlinks may or may not be acceptable, that's more of a judgement call. --Xyzzyplugh (talk) 07:12, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

There was a link to the disambiguation page for the term "Rus" which was marked in hidden text as intentional. I could see no reason for linking to the disambig page, and the original editor has been banned, so I can't ask why they did it. I changed it to link to the article Rus (name). If anyone feels there was a better choice, feel free to chime in. LarryJeff (talk) 15:31, 23 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
