Canadian television ratings section removal

edit

Regarding the removal of the Canadian Numeris ratings section, I understand that Roseanne is an American TV show, but the show also airs in Canada on CTV the same day and timeslot as it does on ABC and is one of the top shows this year in the country. If a Canadian is looking for viewership in that country for a particular episode, they can't because it didn't originate in Canada? For example, Flashpoint and Rookie Blue are both series that originated in Canada, but also aired on CBS and ABC, respectively. Their series ratings tables include both Canadian and American viewership, with Rookie Blue including separate Canadian and American ratings sections in each of its season-by-season articles. If an American watched that show (which far more did due to population differences), they can't see how many viewers there were from their country because it didn't originate in the U.S.? Should all of the American ratings be removed from Canadian series articles simply because the show didn't originate there? Is there any precedent (not just "we") that ratings for a television show should only be included from the country of its origin—especially when its simulcast between both? Can't believe no one's posted about the cancelation and Tweets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.201.168.112 (talk) 10:36, 3 June 2018‎ (UTC)Reply

You'd be surprised. We even had to protect the page because of exactly this issue.   https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Roseanne_(season_10)&action=history ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:48, 3 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
