I wanted to discuss. I wrote much of the disputed/poorly referenced info on this player. I did it because I really enjoy reading this kind of thing written by other fans, for other players which I do not study closely. For example I don't know much about Turkish players, but then I read some things written by fanatics and it really opens up boundaries. These are not robots, every footballer has key moments in his career, emotions, problems with managers. Whatever. It is endless and in my opinion fascinating. Nothing written here was aimed to slander. If that's how it looks I'm sorry.

Maybe we have a conflict of beliefs - what should Wikipedia look like. In the context; a footballer is not a politician. Something on here will not affect his career nor even his reputation with fans. There is too much 'politically correct' information available and very little info that useful about understanding a player's form, or history.

I think people who go on wiki to learn quick and interesting facts. Sure you could delete anything opinion based for fear of bias, but that would make this place dull. If people wanted to know someone's age or height, there are plenty of sports websites like Fifa, Uefa, Yahoo, ESPNsoccernet, to find that info.

My opinion is that more pages about athletes (at the very least) should look like this. I was wondering what others thought. Please! discuss.--Nothingnowhere (talk) 06:23, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

POV bias. edit

Biased paragraphs.A mixture of irrelevant information and biased comparisons based on personal opinions. Needs to be modified drammatically for it to be encyclopedic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.82.57.171 (talk) 22:16, 24 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Im fed up with these POV expressions here. Why even write about this in the first place?About how Shirokov's errors ruined the game etc. Russia was never the favourites to win the match.Shirokov was never regarded by anyone as a world class player , nor were the Berezutsky brothers or Ignashevich.Everyone is aware of the class of the Spanish Football team. Why exagerate how poor he was , given the expectations of him before the match> Why talk about how good Villa or Torres was?HOW DOES IT RELATE TO SHIROKOV?? Rewrite this article without any POV or bias statements and remarks and talk on events directly related to Shirokov himself. If you wish to write about the match write it in the Euro 2008 article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.82.57.171 (talk) 22:25, 24 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
