Relevance edit

Is this person relevant? Should they really be on an international encyclopaedia?

I think this page should be deleted. --18/03/2007

Yes, this person is relevant; yes, she should really be in an international encyclopedia. No, her entry should not be deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AiNewsDesk (talkcontribs) 17:39, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why? What is noteworthy about her? You didn't give any reasons.
She hosts a local 1 hour radio show that's broadcast on only a couple of dozen other small NPR stations. They broadcast her show, only because WBUR charges little for her show. Her show is on in the middle of the day when 90% of the US population is at work. It is not rebroadcast in the evening, even on her own home station, WBUR, which does rebroadcast the other daytime show it produces in the evening. The bias is so heavy that she sounds more like a cheerleader than a journalist. She's no more noteworthy than any other run-of-the-mill radio personality in the English-speaking world. Even in Boston most people have never heard of her.Bostoner (talk) 02:23, 19 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hey Bostoner: How do you happen to know how many people in the Boston area have heard of her? I remember her as a stunning local anchor, and as one of the presenters (with Marty Sender) on the original Evening Magazine, which was syndicated by WBZ/Westinghouse Broadcasting. The format, later widely copied, was developed by Win Baker, but that's another story. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.72.12.201 (talk) 00:40, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Since 'Bostoner' does not exist any longer as an editor, we may safely conclude that this was a sock puppet. Robin Young is important in broadcasting, and is well known among literate and informed listeners. I just heard her in a guest spot on an archived edition of Says You, where she did a fine job. Where do these pup sockets come from? Rainbow-five (talk) 04:40, 11 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
