From the guidelines (WP:SINGLE):

A song is definitely notable if it meets any one of the following standards. . . . 4. Is a folk song, hymn or Christmas carol with a documented history of more than fifty years

This one is more like more than a hundred years, as it's a Child ballad. Anyone know a good way to sidle that in? (BTW, "Child ballad 136" describes its index, like "Beethoven's Sixth Symphony". We certainly want the exact phrase in the lede. Goldfritha 02:29, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
