*Daguerreotype or Portrait? edit

There are both a psychical Daguerreotype of Todd and portrait of him, I think both are in the public domain and would like to add one to the article.

I want to ask the community if there is a preference or precedent to either.

I'm not sure if they're Wikipedia rules in a situation of a photograph over a portrait. (I just want feed back before I choose either.)
