Proposed deletion edit
I strongly object to the proposed deletion and have removed the template.
I have edited this article and added much information to it; had it not already been created I would have created it myself. I consider the PROD to be specious. Emms is most definitely a notable actor: he played the lead in a West End play, for heaven's sake, and not just any old West End play (I hope you sense the sarcasm there, as appearing in the West End is what many actors aspire to) but War Horse, one that the Times has called "the theatrical event of the decade". Playing the lead in such a play is absolutely notable. He's appearing in a Steven Spielberg film that is released at the end of this year - again, not any old actor gets to do that - and is also appearing in two other forthcoming Hollywood movies. He's done plenty of tv work already, and that alone would establish his notability.
And as for the sources I used - Emms is starting his career so not a lot has been written about him yet to use. I used his agent's website as it lists some of the productions he has been in. The nominator's criticism that I used the website of 'a theatre he has worked at' is interesting - it's the National Theatre. You know, our flagship national theatre here in the UK. Again, not just any old actor gets to act there.
Did the proposer bother to read the article I wonder? I am at a loss to see how he thinks Emms is non-notable.
The creator of the article, User:Robertemms may or may not be Robert Emms himself. He is clearly a new user and probably isn't aware of the various Wikipedia policies. If he is Robert Emms, then the claim that the article is autobiographical/self-promotional and should be deleted on that account does not hold water either, as I have since worked on the article, wikified it, added to it and removed uneccessary information such as family details. As I said before, if User:Robertemms hadn't created it then I would have.
Emms is clearly notable. Screen International thinks so. This PROD is ridiculous. Stronach (talk) 13:18, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
Autobiography tag edit
So where is the discussion of the autobiography tag on the talk page, as mentioned in the tag? Really, I don't see the relevance of the tag - everything that is in the article that User:Robertemms put in would have been put in by me too had he not got there first. So the tag is irrelevant. And I would add, we have not yet had any acknowledgment or proof that User:Robertemms is Robert Emms. He could be a fan. So in that regards too, the tag is spurious as it makes a claim you can't back up. I'm removing it. Stronach (talk) 13:20, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
