Merge edit

There appears to be a duplicate entry for Robert Chambers under Robert Chambers Jr, mentioning only his golfing activities. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Chambers,_Jr. It should be merged into this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.103.20.124 (talk) 10:35, 5 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

New name edit

We now have two identical pages and need to decide which to use. Robert Chambers (publisher, born 1832) or Robert Chambers Jr.. Nigej (talk) 12:00, 9 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

OK, noting that ♥Golf's version was entirely about the golfer, I'm favoring Robert Chambers Jr. as that title doesn't favor either "publisher" or "golfer" as the most defining characteristic of this person. I trust my decision will not be controversial. At the risk of sounding politically incorrect or offending anyone, I note the analogy of Sarah Jane Brown, where the community settled on simply using the person's full name when there was no consensus on which defining characteristic(s) to use for parenthetical disambiguation. – wbm1058 (talk) 22:34, 27 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
