• Much as I love it, "fisticuffs" seems like an informal term for an encyclopedia.
• "worldwide locales" settings instead of locales.
• "need for a marketable feature" all things need to be marketable, was this more for "global" appeal?
• EA is overlinked in the infobox.
• Lead should probably mention motorcycle.
• "in third-place or" no need to hyphenate.
• "... third-place or higher among..." etc is a complicated sentence! Could you split it?
• "number of locales around" locations or settings.
• "access a bike shop" lots of "bike" in this sentence, at least ditch this one.
• "player may potentially purchase" why potentially? If they can afford it, presumably they can.
• "at a password entry screen" -> "at an entry screen"
• "Motorcycle cops" cop is a colloquial term, not encyclopedic.
• I don't think we need to link "helicopter".
• "repo man for the bike shop or a snitch" these terms could be linked though.
• "Breen serving as producer" no need for this serving.
• What's 3DO?
• What are "gameplay sprites"?
• What's Sega CD?
• complimented or complemented?
