editI've changed the title of the song "大和撫子魂" to read Yamato Nadeshiko Spirit. "魂" is read as "spirit" when she sings it, as in the last verse, which reads in Japanese as "めざして / 貴方に死ぬまで付いていくわ/ 明日を精一杯生きて/ アナタに誓う大和撫子魂!! However, when she sings the last part, bolded above, she quite clearly SAYS "Yamato Nadeshiko Spirit" and so I've changed the title of the song to reflect this.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ncnc123 (talk • contribs) 16:56, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Ok something wierd is happening on this game called Final Fantasy XI someone is claiming they are Kosaka Riyu..ummmm but the info she gives us doesnt match with this info..the person in the game says she is 15 yet this page says the real Kosaka Riyu was born in 1985 which makes her lik 19...something wierd is going on because the person in the game also wants to meet my friend whos name i will not reveal.. How old is she really?
She's definitely not fifteen; she was fifteen at the start of BeForU if I remember right, which was several years ago. They probably got that she was fifteen from another website I've seen, which mentions that she was the youngest member of BeForU at fifteen (at the time).
Changes and stuff.
editI've made a few changes around here:
First, the discography will now be organized by soundtrack title, as opposed to game title. If anything, this should make things a little cleaner. Should a song appears on multiple soundtracks, the album it initially appears on takes precedence in most cases. Long versions are the exception here. Unless the game-sized version is musically or lyrically different from the long version (CANDY♥, for example) the song will only be listed once (on the album the long version appeared on), for the sake of clarity. In the event that a long version appears on multiple albums (true... ~radio edit~, for example, artist specific albums get precedence to game soundtracks and compiliations. The only time a like-sounding game version is allowed on the list is when the game-sized version is titled differently (KI・SE・KI -IIDX RED EDIT-, in this case). Finally I've decided not to count instrumentals. I figure Naoki deserves credit for those (excluding Firefly (Instrumental) because vocals, sparse and faded as they are, happen to be present). Heh.
If anyone has questions about the changes I've made, feel free to ask me about them.

- So for Glacial, since it was on both V-Rare 5 and on begin, should it only be on begin? (I don't think it was any different on the two...) -JD 09:15, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
- No, since the glacial version off V-Rare 5 is musically different, and has a more "trancey" feel. -Darkamdusias 16:32, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
More Changes
editI noticed that many translations of Japanese titles were not provided, or were provided in an inconsistent manner. As far as I know, Wikipedia doesn't have a standardized method of doing this, but I changed the way translations/transliterations are listed. However, my Japanese knowledge is limited, and I was only able to provide a few translations/transliterations, so if anyone wants to provide the others, that would be awesome. Templates
editI'm a little curious about the templates on the front page. I can see where some references ought to be cited, but I don't see any original research/unverified claims. The second template says to see the talk page for details, but no details are given here. Anyone know why?
Also, when I first added discography stuff to this article, I left the stub-classification (originally there was just a very short biography) since just adding a discography doesn't add that much content. However, both the discography and the biography have expanded since then. Does anyone think the stub classification should be removed? Angalang 08:22, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, scratch that. It occurred to me that, despite its length, the article is still basically stub-quality in the information it provides. I did some browsing through Wikipedia:Manual of Style, and discovered that basically we're doing this whole discography thing wrong, and because of that it's pretty much consuming the entire article. If nobody has any objections, I'm going to try to downplay the discography a bit in accordance with Wikipedia:Manual of Style (lists of works). Some of this is problematic -- for example, I'm not sure how her contributions to DDR/bemani fit in here. Initially I considered simply removing them from the discography section (obviously mentioning them somewhere else since they're pretty significant to her career), since basically all of those songs are available either on her albums or BeForU's albums. However, I'm not sure how BeForU's albums fit in there either, since it might be more fitting to just have those listed on the BeForU page. For now, I think I'll leave BeForU stuff in there, but if anyone has any suggestions I'm open.
- I'm also starting to see why the templates on the front page are there -- even if there isn't a whole lot of information, what is there is unsourced. Back when BeForU and its members' homepages were on the Konami website, this would have been a lot simpler to remedy; however, since they moved to Avex I have been unable to find very much information that could be used as a source. (This is exacerbated by the fact that I don't speak Japanese, but I'm working on that one. :P) It also doesn't help things that Kosaka's personal homepage currently has very little biographical information. For now, I'm going to try to cite the discography section with links to her CD's available for purchase on PlayAsia.com, but if discography information ever becomes available on her site or the Avex site, discography information should probably point to there. I'm not sure where I can find sources for actual biographical information at this point. If I find something I'll add it, but if anyone else is aware of anything useful, go ahead and throw it in. Image in the infobox
editThe image that was in the infobox got deleted. I didn't upload it, and I'm not sure why it was removed, so I replaced it with slightly older image of Kosaka that I uploaded a short time ago that hadn't been deleted. It looks kind of pixelly, and I'm currently trying to find an image that's in better compliance with Wikipedia's fair use policy. (I'm studying Japanese right now, and once I learn enough to be coherent I may leave a comment on her blog asking permission to use a picture of her from there. Since I doubt those images are copyrighted, this might be the best plan, probably better than using an album cover. But that's going to be awhile.) Until then, if anyone comes up with an image that would be better suited for this article, feel free to replace it. Angalang 06:52, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Recent Vandalism
editThis page has randomly been undergoing a lot of vandalism lately. I've heard the Riyu Kosaka = Vampire joke before, so I understand that, but I'm curious about some of the rest of it. Someone changed her Japanese name from 小坂りゆ to 小坂キュラ. キュラ, the katakana for "kyura", doesn't actually mean anything, from what I can tell. They also changed 大和撫子魂 to 悪魔城子魂. I don't recognize the kanji, but google translator tells me it means something about a demonic spirit. Is that just going back to "lol vampires"?
Anyway, most of that is just to satisfy my own curiosity. I'm not sure how to go about getting this page temporarily protected from vandalism, but I'll look into it. Angalang 00:41, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
