This article sorely needs a discussion of the history of the term “Rise Above.” I have documented use of the phrase in public graffiti as early as 2005 (perhaps earlier) in Dayton, Ohio.
Clearly it seems that the term has been appropriated by the RAM from previous uses that are unclear to me. When I documented the use, I presumed the term was an alternative to “Rest In Peace” and was used in reference to a fellow graffiti artist who had died. I am unaware of any pro-Nazi or Neo-Fascist orientation of the person who was then being commemorated or who was creating the graffiti. Tgkohn (talk) 18:57, 12 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
