Merge to riparian strip?

No. Not all riparian strips or riparian buffers are forested. You can have scrubs, grasses or unfortunately bare soil in riparian strips. --Ray 16:17, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

non flowing water bodies

upon what authority does riparian refer to "non-flowing" bodies of water. i have only seen it used to denote the fringe of a flowing water body. Anlace 05:42, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Merge to riparian zone

Atlantic coastal salt marsh is not a riparian forest

I like the article but I wonder why the uppermost photo (Atlantic salt marsh) is attached here as it has nothing in common with a riparian forest. In my view the photo would be helpful in an article on salt marshes, e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt_marsh Hana Cizkova 19:01, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
