Disagreement between English and Portuguese versions regarding gauge

This page says that the line will have a gauge of 1,668 mm, whereas the Portuguese version says that it will use standard gauge (1,435mm). Any idea which is correct? -- 203.97.105.173 (talk) 04:13, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

So far I have not found an official answer, but the study at http://www.tavbrasil.gov.br/Tracado.asp implies the gauge will be 1435mm. --cesarb (talk) 17:44, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

While the traditional gauge of Spain and Portugal are 1668 gauge, new high speed lines in these countries are 1435 for compatibility with the rest of Europe. Dual gauge is possible with these gauges.

The traditional gauges in Brazil include 1600 gauge. For future compatibilty with other countries in South America, they might choose to make their high speed gauge 1435. Dual gauge is difficult with these gauges. Peter Horn User talk 03:01, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
