UK sales figures - 03 February 2009

Although there may not be an official BPI certification for Right Now, the sales can be above 60,000 because the certificates are not automatic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Phonographic_Industry#Sales_certificates

I believe that my sources are correct and the 2008 UK sales are 122,000+, as it has been corroborated in several forums. However, I agree that they are not authoritative sources.

Considering that no link to an authoritative source has been found, the UK sales figures should be considered as unavailable.

I'm inclined to agree; most other albums focus on chart position and certification, I'm really not sure why sales are necessary here - they're a nightmare to source, and immediately cause problems because even if we can source one country, another country gets left out. Surely chart position and certification is what most readers are interested in, anyway? I say we leave it for a few days and if no one objects we be bold and remove the sales column.

I've done it, but there's a Nimbley6 sock active right now who will almost certainly revert me. I'm not going to edit-war over it, provided Nimbley6 leaves the fact tags in. Cheers, This flag once was redpropagandadeeds 20:25, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

If worldwidealbums cannot be used as reference, and there is no official BPI gold certification, then I agree that the sales and certifications should be N/A. --Notsooldafterall (talk) 21:33, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, the worldwidealbums ref I tried to add "http://" to it, and hit the spam blacklist. I've removed the sales column entirely - I think there is a case for certification (most other similar articles use it) but it should be N/A until Silver etc disks are awarded. The other page with the same information http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leon_Jackson_discography should probably be edited as well.. Anyway, there shouldn't be the same info in two different places.. --Notsooldafterall (talk) 21:40, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Oh, totally agree. The problem is our friend Nimbley6... I'm not sure there';s much justification for the discography article at all. Cheers, This flag once was redpropagandadeeds 21:44, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's done. I have changed the table in 'Leon Jackson discography' in accordance to this discussion, and replaced the chart info that was on this page with a link to it.--Notsooldafterall (talk) 06:34, 4 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge with Stargazing (Leon Jackson song) edit

Redirected, as all of the referenced material is already at the target (nothing to merge). Klbrain (talk) 16:20, 6 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
