I do not know about the ingredients. It was named after the Hungarian Gipsy musician, called Rigo Jancsi. He became a bit of a celebrity in Hungary and the story around is romantic and unusual. It is a celebration cake in his honor, named after him the same way like namings streets, or ships or anything after a more celebrated or notable person.

Interesting. I think you did a good job clarifying a bit. Do we know if the cake was developed for a particular event or who made it first? I guess not. Anyway, it's an interesting article.
