Riff Raff is a major player in the rap game, I have cited my sources, Complex, Fuse, MTV, LA Weekly, etc..., he is in reality signed to Mad Decent records, I am in no way affiliated with him but recognize that he is a notable rapper worth mentioning. Section: Style | Possible New Sections

edit

The existence of this section seems plausible and necessary to me, due to the artists unique appeal concerning his humoristic, colorful-creative , imaginary-associative approach to the rap genre. Notations about being considered as the "greatest rapper ever" CANNOT be part of such a section, due to the subjective nature of such a lable and because of being a matter of reception (a section called "reception" which is backed up by a number reliable sources seems logical). The Notation of the Versace Python-video is not a senseful part of the Style-section either. Furthermore the question, WHY this video (Versace Python) made such a fuzz, remains completely unexplained. Most of all, none of those newly added infos are backed up by any sources. I therefore gonna delete those info from the section, in hope that a better, more plausible organisation of such infos will be made. A section called Cocaine Use or Drug Use in Videos could be a possible addition to the page, since this has been the reason for videos like "Versace Python" to achieve such an echo within the online-community. — Preceding unsigned comment added by John Träger Finder (talkcontribs) 08:37, 11 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Name and birth date IMPORTANT

edit

As far as I can see there is no reliable source available concerning the civil name and birth date of Riff Raff. The artist has himself stated different and often diverse info about his biography in interviews. It would be an interesting job to search through all available interviews and articles on Riff Raff from the last four years to back this up properly, but I am pretty sure that there have been different, supposely true ages and civil names released. If the current civil name and birth date stated in the Wikipedia article is really only based on the article by Mike Winslow like it is stated in the references-section, we cannot take it as verified truth, simply due to the artists (Riff Raffs) nature and known habit of talking wildly and stupid a lot. When he opened up his current YouTube account in March 2012 it stated the age of 29, which is not fitting the birth date of January 1985. In another article I once read (had to search the web for it tho) from the year 2011 of the SODMG-signing-period said that he was 24... — Preceding unsigned comment added by John Träger Finder (talkcontribs) 12:46, 11 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Riff Raff's real name is actually Horace Simco or Horst Simco, and should be updated on this page accordingly. http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/dc9/2012/05/viral_goes.php http://www.29-95.com/music/story/meet-houston-rap-games-newest-enigma Ceddybu (talk) 16:37, 3 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Not done: As someone posted below in the comments, Riff Raff has himself stated different and often diverse info about his biography in interviews. That's why different sources state different names. However, the only major publication among them, which can be considered reliable, is LA Weekly, and it states his name is Jody Christian. 2Flows (talk) 13:02, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

None of his listed singles have charted. Should the chart section be omitted? I find it confusing although wiki may have a guideline for keeping it for uniformity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tastiertthangravy (talkcontribs) 21:44, 5 August 2013‎ (UTC)Reply

Not done We don't require that singles have charted in order to include them - we just require that they are verifiable. At other articles there may be a local editorial decision to omit non-charting singles, however. Criteria can vary from article to article, as long as those criteria have consensus. — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 09:17, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

In the early life section: Replace " Riff Raff would do odd jobs such as cutting hair and painting cars" with " Riff Raff would do random jobs such as cutting hair and painting cars" I think the word odd has a weird connotation with it. In the context of the sentence it implies that there's something weird and or odd about the jobs he did. Those are perfectly normal jobs that perfectly normal people do. 98.223.102.163 (talk) 13:51, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I would like the inference that Stone Creek has developed a gang problem to be removed. This is a hearsay statement that is not based on any documented fact. Crime logs are below average for the city of Houston. This inference about the neighborhood of stone creek is damaging to property values. Bays21 (talk) 21:13, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Assault allegations

edit

@Jodyhighrollerent: please describe in what way you believe the current content is inaccurate. -- Fyrael (talk) 17:36, 8 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

That's the thing, I don't have to describe anything. Posting information like this without proof is slander and considering the page is littered with inaccuracies, this needs to be fixed. If you are going to continue you "re-add" liable information, I encourage you to quote sources in regard to legal action from an attorney or law enforcement. Considering there is none, there is zero reason for these allegations to be posted on the page outside of people looking to draw attention to something someone "said." Jodyhighrollerent (talk) 17:45, 8 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
The word you're looking for is "libel", and nothing on this article is libel. As far as I can tell we have reliable, published sources for the statements made about the accusations. Wikipedia doesn't require court documents in order to say that an accusation was made. Are you claiming that no accusations have been made against the artist? -- Fyrael (talk) 17:52, 8 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
And yes, you do need to describe what you're claiming is inaccurate if you want to come to a consensus with other editors, which is the only way the content on the article will change. If you're not willing to collaborate with other editors then you're just wasting your time. -- Fyrael (talk) 17:56, 8 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
