Does this article need to exist, really? Does the world need to know about ric rac, something used for decoration and isn't really used today? It doesn't have any significance. A person would not need to look it up in an encyclopedia. Estridaldrea (talk) 21:17, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

It has gone out of fashion now, but was in fashion not that long ago, and is still sold and used. In describing previous fashions it could easily be a useful article to link to, were it improved. Loggie (talk) 15:18, 15 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Still being used very much today and am surprised why you think your personal opinion about something should impact on whether it is featured here. BTW a person WOULD need to look it up in an encylopaedia which is how I found the page... jeanpower (talk) 12:12, 29 September 2012

I just purchased rickrack for sewing retro cocktail napkins and I was wondering about the history of the material...... I think that proves that there should be a better article about it.Dislokate (talk) 02:54, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I definitely think this article needs to exist, but I feel it is very poorly written. What the author states as fact is either incorrect or opinion, depending on which statement you are examining. For example, rick rack comes in a variety of sizes, not just one. In trying to get technical or lengthen the article, the author stated as fact things that can be easily demonstrated as untrue. I believe rick rack was more popular in several decades prior to the 70's. As much as I am a Laura fan, I just don't think you can claim that the questionable television series based on her books made rick rack more popular than it was previously.
