Some confusion here. Elrington Ball, the great authority, thought she was called Abbott but didn't seem sure. The peerages, also usually reliable say clearly that she was Lady Lucy Montagu, daughter of the Duke of Montagu. Yet the 1st Duke's only known daughter was called Anne and married a man called Popham, and the 2nd Duke was far too young to be Lucy's father.
