I removed "He is the author of several books, including 1992s Promises to Keep, which had a sizeable influence on that year's presidential campaign.". There's a ton of books named that. One of them is the internal link, but that one was not written by Goodwin. And I can't find a book of this name written by Goodwin, either. Algae 12:52, 12 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

  • The correct and full title is "Promises to keep: a call for a new American revolution" Published by Times Books in New York c 1992.

The book should go back. Promises to keep was a highly influential work in the 92 campaigns of both Bill Clinton and Jerry Brown. Do an Amazon search.

Found it. I'm too lazy to add it back today, but it's ISBN 0812920546. Odd though, you would think that such an influential book had more than zero reviews on Amazon even if it is over ten years old. Algae 21:05, 16 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I always thought that the blond that was his wife (played by Mira Sorvino) in the movie "Quiz Show" was Doris Kearns Goodwin. It wasn't. According to imdb that was a Sandra Goodwin. So he was married at least once before. This should probably be mentioned in this article.--164.107.186.25 06:39, 4 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • The link to the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston is currently broken. They have a new homepage there. I will try to fix this link. T. E. Goodwin 02:47, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The driving arrest is too trivial to mention in an encyclopedia. It should be removed. pmr (talk) 16:48, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

The passsage, "Goodwin left government service in 1965, though he returned briefly in 1968 to write speeches for presidential candidates Robert F. Kennedy, Eugene McCarthy and Edmund Muskie. According to Time magazine, he left the White House because of an investigation the FBI had taken against him, the specifics of which are unknown.[3]" reads as thought Goodwin was involved in some kind of wrongdoing, but the linked source seems to suggest Johnson was purging Kennedy loyalists throughout his administration. If someone more knowledgable about the topic could take a crack at a clarifying rewrite that would help Thomas Craven (talk) 18:24, 14 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Parents' Name edit

Ancestry.com has a copy of a town record (Lincoln, MA) of his marriage to Doris Kearns Goodwin. In that record, it says his parents' last name was Ginsburg. It's definitely them, everything else matches. Anyone know anything that can corroborate this? Cermus (talk) 23:34, 26 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
