Movie/book confusion edit

I have partially reverted this edit because it combines and confuses the ending of the book and the play with the ending of the 1956 movie. In the book and play, mom dies, daughter lives (a horrifying ending which not only gives the girl the chance to kill again, but also to grow up to have children of her own, thus conjuring up the specter of the genetic evil — the bad seed — being passed on to future generations of killers); whereas in the otherwise–excellent movie mom lives, daughter dies due to the requirements of the Hays Code (and perhaps the greatest single modern example of a deus ex machina ending) with mom so convinced of her own evil nature she can't stand to live, much less have another child. I am going to also change the section heading to make clear that it is the character history from the book. TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 14:48, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
