Seal of the First Philippine Republic edit

This edit caught my eye. This mage_coat graphic was initially added in this edit.

Was the Seal of the First Philippine Republic actually the coat of arms of the Revolutionary Government of the Philippines, a revolutionary government which preceded the First Philippine Republic???

If it was, I suggest that this be supported by, at minimum, a clarifying invisible comment in the wikitext. An explanatory footnote, perhaps in the infobox where the image is located, would be better. A footnote citing a reliable supporting source would be even better. Lead image edit

This edit caught my eye. It changed the lead image for this article from this to this Both images appear in other contexts in other articles. There have been several past versions of the latter linked image.

These images are effectively unsupported assertions in wikivoice that what they depict is factual. Their unsupported visual assertions differ. I see this as a problem. I've previously brought this up elsewhere. AFAIK, there is no good way of handling this problem, so I'm not offering a proposed solution.

I just thought that deserved mention. Situations similar to this exist in other articles.Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 13:57, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
