AFD on manufacturer Alice Soundtech edit

There's an AFD on Alice Soundtech, a leading UK supplier of studio and transmission equipment for RSL radio stations, from mixing consoles to AM/FM transmitters, based in Surrey. People in the biz or in the know can chime in at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alice Soundtech. -- 62.147.86.249 16:52, 2 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

What is and isnt relavent here edit

The section:-

Radio Stations broadcasting under a Restricted Service Licence

Some famous stations broadcast with RSLs, or have done and gone onto providing a permanent service. Among them:

needs major attention. There are stations that no longer exist, or have never provided a permanent service. Either the criteria should be changed, or the list edited to reflect the current requirement. I have amended to include "any RSL"

On looking at the list I found Radio Avalon - now an intermittent web based station - last updated 2008?? Don FM off air for last 14 years???? Worthy FM - still only at festival Takeover Radio - now permanent XFM (London) - now permanent KMFM Maidstone - now permanent Huntingdon Community Radio (Huntingdon) - now permanent Radio Caroline - enough said Waves FM, - now permanent GLOSS FM, - still twice yearly RSL Moorlands Radio, - now permanent

As for notability - considering the small area covered, they are can only be notable in that area - if at all!

List of RSL's is a tough one - there have been tens of thousands of such short term licences issued, over 20 plus years. Should this section just highlight some more 'well known' examples? Or should it be a list of 'any' such radio station with a Wikipedia page of their own? (If this is big would it's own category or 'List of RSL stations in the United Kingdom' page be better?

There is already a small list on the 'List of Radio Stations in the United Kingdom' page which suffers from the same issue as the list here.

This section also needs reference to 'long term rsls' - such as used by various Student, Hospital and military radio stations.

Then the whole TV RSL section needs a major updating. Philedmondsuk (talk) 19:26, 23 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
