I know this isn't Simple English Wikipedia, but that opening paragraph is ridiculously opaque to, e.g., someone coming over from popular finance article with the question "what's a repurchase agreement anyway?" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Archon Shiva (talkcontribs) 19:13, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

Fully agree. This isn't a mathematical theorem. Prinsgezinde (talk) 21:58, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
The lead is clear and easy to understand. I assume that you are referring to the first section, "Repo expressed as mathematical formula". Yes, I agree too! It makes opaque a concept that is straightforward. I have never seen a repo transaction represented like that, which is perhaps why the "original research" tag is on the article. I will try to clean up the entire article, especially that first section! Whomever wrote this article initially provided truly comprehensive coverage of repo trades, but the net impression after reading all of it is confusion not understanding. Some of the content could be broken out as a separate article, e.g. reverse repo, and linked to, which would help! I will try to do that.--FeralOink (talk) 01:46, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
