Interesting that nobody mentions The_B-52's here...

(and you are? leave a sig please!) As far as I can tell The B-52's were't a major influence of Republica's music --Spacepostman 04:52, 22 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, thougt it signs automagically. Maybe they aren't offically influenced by The_B-52's, but IMHO they sound a lot like them, more modern (Chumbawamba), but... -Guest 12:52, 22 July 2006 (CET)

Work with The Cure edit

As far as I know, Saffron has worked with The Cure in just one song, "Just Say Yes". There is no mention of a second song anywhere, even in their unreleased material. Marcusbacus (talk) 05:30, 8 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Republica speed1.jpg edit

Image:Republica speed1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:52, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

File:Republica - Drop Dead Gorgeous excerpt.ogg edit

This sample was made up but it didn't meet the criterion for inclusion in articles. There needs to be sourced commentary about the content of the song, but there wasn't any. If the article develops and there is discussion about this particular song we can have it un-deleted. Dawnseeker2000 21:52, 8 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Dead external links to Allmusic website – January 2011 edit

Since Allmusic have changed the syntax of their URLs, 1 link(s) used in the article do not work anymore and can't be migrated automatically. Please use the search option on http://www.allmusic.com to find the new location of the linked Allmusic article(s) and fix the link(s) accordingly, prefereably by using the {{Allmusic}} template. If a new location cannot be found, the link(s) should be removed. This applies to the following external links:

– The word for republic in Spanish and several other languages is república or republica. due to this, several countries are styled República de or similar. This likely contributes most of the traffic to this page, as people would type republica, looking for Republic, and be sent to the page on the band. 122.60.65.44 (talk) 00:06, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose. This nomination is a stretch. There is very little chance the majority of the hundreds of daily views to this page are people typing random non-English words, especially given the fact that Republica (disambiguation) isn't a highly-viewed page at all. Nohomersryan (talk) 01:22, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
    But I still feel that the band fails WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. 122.60.65.44 (talk) 04:50, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose per Nohomersryan. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:39, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. This is the English Wikipedia, not the Spanish one. The difference between "Republica" and "Republic" is clear enough. JIP | Talk 16:48, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
