This site looks like it copied and pasted a past wikipedia article onto his or her own website. I don't know if this is relevant now that this page has changed or if this is the place to report such activity. But I definately think that something should be done, they even kept the traditional wikipedia format and the navigation box at the bottom. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by DragonMaster (talkcontribs) .

Actually, that kind of stuff is allowed. The content of articles are licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License, and Wikipedia:Copyright sums it up by saying: "The license Wikipedia uses grants free access to our content in the same sense as free software is licensed freely. This principle is known as copyleft. That is to say, Wikipedia content can be copied, modified, and redistributed so long as the new version grants the same freedoms to others and acknowledges the authors of the Wikipedia article used (a direct link back to the article satisfies our author credit requirement). Wikipedia articles therefore will remain free forever and can be used by anybody subject to certain restrictions, most of which serve to ensure that freedom."
So, while I thank you for the concern and the heads up, no need to worry, really. This kind of stuff is actually encouraged :) -- Ned Scott 05:53, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh, alright. Thanks for letting me know, I had no clue that that was allowed -__-;; --DragonMaster 20:07, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Hi, To all that have questions about RENAMON•••It's spelled Renamon and pronounced Ren•a•mon. Renamon isn't male nor female in its own words "Digimon aren't divided into genders" but even though Renamon is voiced by a woman doesn't mean its a girl. Renomon?

edit

Could somebody tell me about the whole jist about Renomon? Google searches don't tell me much of anything, picture or text.

Renomon is a fan created character. Renamon is generally regarded as "female"—officially Digimon have no genders, but the creators of the games and anime have said that many digimon follow a male or female archetype—so someone created a variation that was more "masculine", and named him "Renomon"; a play on various languages where names ending in "a" are female and "o" are male (think "Mario" vs. "Maria"). In canon, there is no such digimon as Renomon. -- VederJuda 22:20, 14 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

You're probably asking because you've seen this character in a lot of adult cartoon comics ... I was wondering who this character was so googled it ... which brought me here. A Digimon character that appears to play a role in the show and has a female trainer ... hence the adult cartoons.

Height?

edit

Anyone know how tall renamon is?

I looked around a bit and I must say I'm rather suprised because noone seems to know. Odd, concidering what a basic statisic it is. An educated guess, derived from the TV show, would be that she is about 5 feet tall. Atzel 06:43, 30 October 2006 (UTC) I looked around myself and I had seen on Renamon's profile that she is 5 foot 3. It's really not a stated fact but I truly think that she is around that exact height. Male_Renamon 18:44, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

(Note from anonymous publisher): According to Digimon Masters Online, Renamon is 222.3529411765 centimeters which is 7"3.54052802' in feet. All digimon have height information on them. If I were to get a Renamon with that is 180 in height, It also provides me the percentage of it's height compared to real height. So I would calculate to get it's real height. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.22.75.44 (talk) 20:41, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

While according to DEATH BATTLE from ScrewAttack, Renamon is about 6'2". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Special:Contributions/2606:6000:C3C3:4C00:CDC4:EB93:7A62:1E49 (User talk:2606:6000:C3C3:4C00:CDC4:EB93:7A62:1E49) 22:34, 23 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Late reply, but I think I know a way to measure Renamon's height (all approximations are rounded to the nearest hundredth):

If memory serves, Renamon is about a head taller than Rika, so about 9 in. (20.86 cm.) or 0.75 ft. (approx. 0.23 m.) taller. Now we need to find out how tall Rika is: since she's 10 in the subbed version Tamers and 12 in dub, let's use her dub age to get highest measurment possible; if she's as tall as the average 12-year-old girl, then she's about 59 in. (149.8 cm.), or approx. 4.92 ft. (approx. 1.5 m.) tall.

Now let's add Rika's height to the extra height Renamon has on her, and we'll find out how tall Renamon is: 59 in. + 9 in. = 68 in. (172.72 cm.), or approx. 5.67 ft. (approx. 1.73 m.)

Bearing in mind 0.67 is two-thirds, and that a foot is 12 inches, and that two-thirds of 12 is 8, if Renamon 5.67 ft. (1.73 m.) tall, then, in laymans' terms, she's 5' 8" (1 meter and 73 centimeters).

Yes I know I'm years late, but I felt like I could answer this question, so I did. SpyroFan123 (talk) 18:46, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Let those pages stay separate including Renamon's. I prefer them that way. It will mess up the List of Digimon order with these redirects. Rtkat3 (talk) 10:50, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Gender issue

edit

I've removed that entire section from Renamon's article. It seemed sort of out of place. I'm keeping it here for the time being, because the digimon gender thing is something that needs to be explained, but i really don't think the article of one single digimon is the right place to do it. --Saintmagician 06:38, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

In one episode of Digimon Tamers, Renamon stated that Digimon have no gender; however, most fans decree this is not true, and go to great lengths to prove this, based upon instances in the show that they feel clearly depicts Digimon as having gender. For instance, they point out the example of the female appearance of such Digimon as Sakuyamon, Renamon's Mega form. This is even contradicted in the anime, as Jijimon and Babamon state they are married. Toei, however, does not seem willing to detract or even comment on this statement.

One view seen would be the concept that gender has no real importance among Digimon. Most regions treat Renamon as female, with a female voice actor. However, in the German version of Digimon Tamers produced for the channel RTLII, Renamon was voiced by a male voice actor (and Sakuyamon by a female voice actor). This is sometimes considered awkward due to the issue of the Biomerge sequence, where Rika (a young girl) fuses with Renamon.

In some fan communities, the alternate spelling "Renomon" is used to denote a specifically male Digimon of the Renamon variety, while the official spelling "Renamon" is used to denote the female variety. This is not an official distinction.

Interestingly enough, it seems that the Renamon in Digimon Savers: Another Mission is male (or, at least, the voice actor is.)

I remember reading an official disclosure from the show's creator (and the Japanese voice actor that does Renamon) that explicitly stated that Renamon was not built to be female, but instead to have no gender. This obviously got warped about (that'll happen with a character with a feminine voice like Renamon has—and her 'figure' doesn't help either), but that's the position of the staff. Those interested can probably find it on a Google search. Blast [improve me] 03.06.07 0146 (UTC)

From head writer Chiaki J. Konaka: http://www.konaka.com/alice6/tamers/characters/renamon-e.html . Ah, must find time to work this information into the article. -- Ned Scott 01:51, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid that conclusion is incorrect. Quoting from that very article by Chiaki J. Konaka:
"At first, I had a sort of androgynous image in mind for Renamon. Officially, digimon do not have gender; however, many Digimon such as Agumon and Gabumon acted like young boys, and there are quite a few obviously female digimon as well. If anything, gender seems fairly easy to identify in digimon."
It's very clear to see that he actually backpedaled from the idea of a "genderless" Renamon in light of the fact that gender is "easy to identify in Digimon". Also, Bandai released an official Renamon statuette with distinctly feminine upper body features. She's obviously meant to be female. She's also voiced by women literally everywhere except Germany, so any vocal discrepancies in the German version of Digimon Tamers can be chalked up to a lack of research on the part of the German studio. -- Idazmi (talk) 02:42, 14 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Actually, if you keep reading, it's clearly said that the "genderless" quality was kept in the case of Renamon, even if most Digimon (including Sakuyamon) have genders: "Eventually, Renamon would become Sakuyamon, a very feminine digimon. I thought that I was start Renamon out as a "genderless" digimon, and have that be a large part of its personality."

Besides, the Japanese original has Renamon talking about itself with just neutral pronouns.193.33.3.227 (talk) 11:32, 9 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

The fact that the official Renamon figure distinctly has breasts, and that Renamon is voiced by a woman with a distinctive feminine sound tends to argue against that position. Idazmi (talk) 07:44, 1 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
The toy is irrelevant, it was made by someone at Bandai, who clearly took artistic liberties (just like whoever at Toei slightly altered the design of Greymon in the Digimon Aventure TV special or how Bandai America altered the designs of the Pink Crane Ninjazord in spite of it not looking that way in the show, they also altered the Unicorn Thunderzord's horn (which in the Dairanger footage does exist but it's a dinky little horn sticking out of the front of the mane) to be more obvious), not Konaka and I'm pretty sure Konaka had no say over the voice direction. Though neither us has a leg to stand on with the later point as neither of us know how the production went. 76.174.39.60 (talk) 06:48, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Kabuki Mode

edit

I don't know if I spelled it right, but that sort of like a mode change for her where she looks more a preistess and it should be mentioned in the article

Its not a mode change, just some sort of miko form in cards, and even if it was a mode change it wouldn't belong on this article since it never happened in Digimon Tamers. Nightmare SE 16:48, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Viximon

edit

The attack of "Killing Stone" for Viximon is a reference to Tamamo-no-Mae I'm just not sure how exactly to merge this new piece of information into the article 10:53, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Does Viximon ever actually use that attack? I haven't read any of the manga or comics related to Tamers, but have seen the anime and the only time Viximon appears is briefly at the end of the last episode. Orca1 9904 (talk) 00:42, 8 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
